The Value of Mentoring Across Culture & Identities
I heard once that our personalities are made up of one-fifth of the five people who we are around the most. Over time, we begin to pick up traits and develop a unique personality that takes all of the parts of those we love into our own self, and this process is always evolving as new people come into your life. As I sat with this, I thought of who those five people were in my life – family, friends, colleagues – and how grateful I was that they poured into me. Each person played a critical role in my development and helped me grow personally and professionally.
